ABOUT ME

​

Jayla James is a professional dance artist from Nova Scotia, Canada, now based in London, England. She recently completed her fourth contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Entertainment, performing as a dancer and aerialist in aqua show Aqua 80 aboard Oasis of the Seas. She has also performed in Spectra’s Cabaret on Ovation and Anthem of the Seas. Jayla appeared as a dancer in the Hulu series Washington Black and has performed in music videos as well as with various performance companies.

 

Jayla is trained in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Heels, Contemporary, Modern, Ballet, and Musical Theatre with recent aerial training expanding her performance repertoire. She began dancing at age four and pursued her professional training in Toronto at George Brown College’s Commercial Dance Program and later at The Room and Board LA under Kolanie Marks.

Beyond performing, Jayla is the founder of Rendezvous Commercial Dance (2021), a training and performance program in Nova Scotia dedicated to developing the next generation of commercial dancers.​ @rendezvouscommercialdance
